Fun & Easy Crab Activities for Preschoolers
Crab activities for preschoolers are an easy way to introduce ocean animals while still keeping learning fun.
When my son was little, beach topics were always a hit. Shells, waves, sea creatures, anything related to the ocean held his attention. Crabs quickly became a favorite, mostly because of the sideways walk and those big claws.
If you’re planning an ocean theme or summer activities, these crab crafts, printable science activities, and simple projects are a fun place to start.

Crab Crafts for Preschoolers
Crafts are usually the easiest way to start an ocean theme with younger kids. These crab projects use simple supplies and give preschoolers plenty of chances to paint, cut, and glue.
- C is for Crab Handprint Art – This alphabet craft turns a painted handprint into a crab. It’s a fun way to introduce the letter C while letting kids make something they’ll be proud to show off.
- Crab Paper Bag Puppet – A simple brown paper bag becomes a crab puppet once the claws, eyes, and legs are added. Kids usually end up using these for storytelling or pretend play afterward.
