Playing St Patrick’s Day Scattergories with Kids
You don’t need the original Scattergories game to play this holiday version. These four printable boards are all you need for a quick, low-prep activity that works well for mixed ages.
How to set up
Grab the free printable below and print one board for each player. If the email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder.
The set includes four full-page boards, each with a different starting letter:
- LUCK
- GOLD
- CELT
- WISH
Print on regular paper for everyday use or cardstock if you want something sturdier. Add pens or pencils and you’re ready to start. No cutting or extra prep required.

Categories on each board
Each board uses the same themed categories:
- Something lucky
- Leprechaun name
- Something green
- Something Irish
- Place in Ireland
- Leprechaun home
- Green food
This keeps the game consistent while the changing letter makes each round feel new.

Game rules (quick version)
Players fill in each category with a word that starts with the round’s letter. You score one point for every answer that no one else writes down. The player with the most points at the end wins.
In the original game, a die chooses the letter, but here it’s printed at the top of each board, making it easy to play without extra pieces.
Print one board per player and start the timer. You’ll usually get a mix of silly, clever, and totally unexpected answers.
This pairs well with our “What’s Your Leprechaun Name?” printable if you want a quick warm-up round before starting.
