Star Wars Word Search (Free Printable)
This Star Wars word search is a fun, easy activity we keep coming back to, especially after watching one of the movies.
It works any time of year (not just May the 4th) and is perfect when you need something quick, screen-free, and actually engaging.
If you’re planning a themed day, it also pairs nicely with other simple Star Wars Day activities without feeling like extra work.

What’s Included in the Star Wars Word Search Printable
This printable is a simple way to give kids a quick break without switching off completely. Word searches still keep their brains working, helping with spelling, pattern recognition, and focus, but in a way that feels more like a game than schoolwork.
The word search puzzle itself has a bit of challenge built in, with words hidden in every direction, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, forwards, and backwards, so it works for a wider age range.
To make it last a little longer, there are also a few black-and-white Star Wars images to color in. This has been helpful here when the puzzle gets finished faster than expected.
If you’re using it with a group, circling or highlighting the words tends to work best. Crossing them out can get confusing since some letters appear in more than one word.
You’ll be looking for 15 Star Wars-themed words:
Star Wars, Luke, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Lightsaber, Maul, Kenobi, X Wing, Kylo Ren, Finn, Yoda, Padme, Skywalker, Jedi, and Sith.
An answer sheet is included as well, which is always useful when one word refuses to show up.

More Star Wars activities to try
If you want to turn this into more than just a quick worksheet, it’s easy to build a full Star Wars-themed day around it. Adding something like Lego Star Wars gives kids a hands-on activity to go alongside the puzzle, especially if they’ve just watched a favorite film.
For something a bit more social, inviting friends over and using your free printable Star Wars birthday cards to color in can turn it into a low-prep themed get-together.
If they’re still in the mood for word games, the Star Wars word scramble worksheet is a nice follow-up, with both easy and harder versions so it works for different ages without needing separate activities.
And if you’re looking to keep the momentum going beyond one theme, the May word search printable is another simple option that fits in nicely without any extra setup.
