These free turkey bingo cards are designed for both home and classroom use, and everything you need is included in the PDF at the bottom of this post.
Inside youโll find five different bingo boards along with two pages of calling cards. Just print them on regular paper or cardstock, cut out the calling cards, and youโre ready to play.
To make the game last longer, I recommend cardstock because the boards hold up better in little hands. Scissors work fine for trimming the calling cards, though if you want a neat stack, a paper cutter does the job quickly.
For markers, you can use anything you have on hand, candy corn, buttons, coins, or even dot markers for younger kids.
With just these few steps, youโll have a Thanksgiving activity ready that works just as well in a classroom center as it does at the family table.
How to Set Up Turkey Bingo
Once youโve printed the boards and cut out the calling cards, itโs time to set up for play.
Each player gets one of the five turkey bingo boards, and the caller keeps the stack of calling cards face down. I like to put the calling cards in a festive bowl or even a little pumpkin bucket so kids can draw them without peeking.
If youโre using this in the classroom, it helps to laminate the boards so they can be reused year after year with dry-erase markers. At home, candy corn or jelly beans make fun seasonal markers, while buttons or coins work well if youโd prefer something less sticky.
How to Play Turkey Bingo
Choose one player to act as the caller. The caller draws a card from the pile and shows it to the group, naming or describing the picture. For younger kids who canโt read yet, encourage the caller to point out details (โa turkey with big tail feathersโ) so everyone can follow along.
Players check their boards and cover the matching image with a marker. The first person to cover five spaces in a row, across, down, or diagonally, shouts โBingo!โ and wins that round. Donโt forget about the free space in the center, which can make completing a row a little easier.
To keep the game exciting, play multiple rounds. Try switching up the winning patterns: four corners, an โXโ across the board, or even a blackout where every square has to be covered. Kids love the variety, and it gives the game longer life at a party or in the classroom.
More Turkey Themed Activities
If your kids enjoyed this game, youโll find plenty of other turkey-themed printables to add to your Thanksgiving plans.
- Turkey Color by Number โ A simple way to mix art with number practice.
- Parts of a Turkey Worksheet โ Helps children learn about features like the snood, wattle, and feathers in a hands-on way.
- Turkey Life Cycle Printable โ Walks kids through each stage of growth, from hatching to adulthood, making it a perfect companion for science lessons.
- Turkey Scavenger Hunt โ A fun, active game that gets kids moving while keeping the holiday theme.
These activities all work well alongside Thanksgiving bingo, giving you options to keep kids entertained and learning before and after the holiday meal.
Turkey Read-Alouds for Preschoolers
After a few rounds of bingo, story time is the perfect way to wind things down. My son always loved silly turkey books when he was younger, they had just enough chaos to keep him giggling while still carrying a little lesson about thankfulness.
- How to Catch a Turkey by Adam Wallace โ This story always made us laugh because the bird is faster and trickier than the kids chasing it. The ending is sweet too, a nice reminder that Thanksgiving is more about gratitude than catching dinner.
- Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano โ Trouble disguises himself as different farm animals, which is pure preschool humor. I remember my son trying to guess what creature he would become next.
- There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey by Lucille Colandro โ The rhythm of this story makes it fun to read aloud, and kids love predicting what the old lady will swallow next. It always ended with lots of giggles at our house.
These lighthearted stories pair well with hands-on games like bingo, giving kids a full Thanksgiving experience thatโs playful but also gently touches on gratitude and family.
If your kids had fun with this game, theyโll love our pumpkin bingo printable as well, perfect for fall parties or a cozy game night at home.
