Whether you’re hosting a family gathering, classroom activity, or just want to add some holiday spirit to your Thanksgiving day. This turkey-themed scavenger hunt is the perfect way to have fun and create lasting memories.
Parents and teachers can join in on the fun by cutting up the second page to hide the 16 quirky turkey images around the house or classroom.
Meanwhile, the younger kids will have a separate sheet with identical images, and their mission is to find and tick off each turkey as they match them.
It’s one of my favorite Thanksgiving activities for kids and it’s bound to become a cherished family tradition.

How to set up the turkey scavenger hunt
This silly turkey scavenger hunt is free for personal use and classroom use only. Scroll to the bottom of the post to access the printable pdf file.
Before the scavenger hunt begins, here’s what you need to do:
Download the turkey scavenger hunt printable from the link below.
There are 2 pages, but you will need to print the first page out as many teams or children as you have. The second page needs to only be printed out once.
I highly recommend laminating the second page before you cut out the images.
Each child will need a pen or pencil to mark off the found turkeys.
Parents, teachers, or older kids it’s time to get creative! Hide the turkey images in various places around the house or classroom. Under tables, behind trees, or wherever you think will be a fun hiding spot.
If you are working with a large group I would split the children into small groups to ensure that each child has a chance to actively participate and enjoy the fun. Making it a memorable Thanksgiving celebration for the entire family.

If there has been a time limit set, make sure you stop after the allotted time and count how many turkeys you found.
After you’ve found all 16 turkeys, celebrate your victory with your friends or family. You can even share stories about your favorite turkey hiding spots!

In There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey by Lucille Colandro, an old lady eats lots of Thanksgiving items, and it’s really funny. But the end is the best part, and it will make you laugh and think about why we love Thanksgiving.
In Turkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano, a smart turkey named Trouble wants to hide from being a Thanksgiving dinner, so he pretends to be other animals on the farm. It’s a funny story that teaches kids about being clever and finding ways to avoid trouble!
