Free June Coloring Pages for Kids

These free June coloring pages are an easy way to keep kids busy at the start of summer without needing to plan a big activity.

I usually keep printables like these nearby during June because they work for just about everything, quiet time, summer mornings, the last week of school, or those afternoons when it’s too hot to be outside.

The set includes 10 different June-themed coloring sheets with summer pictures like camping, ocean animals, gardens, ice cream, sports, beach scenes, and outdoor adventures. Each page also includes the word JUNE in large letters that kids can color as part of the design.

I made these with a mix of ages in mind. Some pages are simpler for preschool and kindergarten, while others have a little more detail for older kids. I also tried not to overcrowd the pages with tiny filler details, so there’s actually space for kids to enjoy coloring them.

What’s Included in the June Coloring Sheets

This printable set includes 10 different June coloring pages, each with its own summer-themed design.

Kids can color camping scenes with tents and campfires, ocean animals and beach pictures, gardens filled with flowers and pollinators, farmers markets, backyard wildlife, outdoor sports, ice cream treats, and national park adventures.

There’s also a summer reading picnic page, which is one of my favorites in the set.

Every coloring sheet includes the word JUNE worked into the design in large decorative letters for kids to color. Some pages are kept fairly simple for preschool and kindergarten, while others include a little more detail for older elementary-aged kids.

I also tried to leave plenty of open coloring space so the pages don’t feel too crowded or frustrating to finish.

More June Themed Coloring Pages

If you need even more seasonal activities this month, the Dinosaur Day coloring pages are a fun option for June 1st, especially for younger kids who love dinosaurs.

Later in the month, the Flag Day coloring pages work well for June 14th activities, while the Juneteenth color by number pages are an easy addition for June 19th learning activities.

You can also use the Father’s Day coloring pages during the third Sunday in June for simple homemade cards and weekend coloring time.

Books to Read in June for Kids

June is usually when we fully switch into “summer reading” mode. I tend to leave books out on the coffee table or throw a few into the car because this is the time of year when reading suddenly feels a lot less like schoolwork and a lot more relaxed.

For younger kids, And Then Comes Summer is perfect for the start of summer break, while Duck & Goose Go to the Beach and The Watermelon Seed both work really well alongside beach or picnic activities.

For older kids, Holes is still one of my favorite summer reads for upper elementary and middle school ages. The Penderwicks also has that end-of-school, summer holiday feel that fits June perfectly. If your kids enjoy animal stories, Manatee Summer is another good seasonal read, especially during beach trips, road trips, or quieter summer afternoons at home.

If your kids are participating in a summer reading challenge this month, June is also a good time to start building a small stack of easy, high-interest books before the “summer slide” kicks in.
