These fall color by number printables are an easy, no-prep activity for preschool and kindergarten kids. The 9 free pages include fall leaves, pumpkins, an owl, squirrel, scarecrow, acorns, sunflower, hedgehog, and apple tree.

Each worksheet has a simple number-and-color key, so kids can work independently while practicing number recognition, color recognition, and fine motor skills.

We use these as a quick seasonal activity when I want something that takes virtually no setup but still keeps little hands busy.

The set includes 9 fall-themed pages, each with its own color key and numbered sections for kids to complete independently.

The designs include acorns, an apple tree, hedgehog, fall leaves, owl, pumpkins, scarecrow, squirrel, and sunflower. Some are quick and simple, while others have more sections to color, so there’s a good mix for preschool and kindergarten kids.

How to use these pages

• Print whichever pages you want to use. Each one has its own number-to-color key at the top.
• Add crayons or colored pencils and let kids match each number to the correct color.

Fall Books to Read Together

A fall picture book is an easy way to turn one of the coloring pages into a slightly longer activity. These three work particularly well with themes already included in the set.

The Leaf Thief is the obvious choice to pair with the squirrel or fall leaves pages. It’s funny, very autumnal, and a good introduction to why all those leaves suddenly start disappearing from the trees.

The Scarecrow is a lovely one to pair with the scarecrow color by number. It’s a quieter story with beautiful illustrations and one we’ve enjoyed bringing out again in the fall.

After the Fall isn’t really an autumn book at all, despite the title, but it’s too good not to include. It follows Humpty Dumpty after his famous fall and opens up some surprisingly good conversations about fear, confidence, and trying again.
