Before you head off to the museum the children can color in the images. Or they can color it in at the museum when they need a break from walking. Just make sure to carry some coloring pens.
A great prize would be that the winner can buy something from the museum shop at the end of the tour. Of course set a small amount, maybe a pencil, or a badge.
Can I adapt this for older students?
As older kids often get left out of the fun, I wanted to give you some ideas on how to adapt this museum hunt for older students.
They can still hunt for the items, but this time, tell them to research the item they find it. Either on the phone when they are there, or when they get back home or to the classroom.
Then give a short summary of the items they have found. This can either be a fun writing activity or a discussion.
I highly recommend you take a storage clipboard with you, so you can keep all of the booklets you receive plus carry pencils and coloring pens.
