How to Use the Random Power Generator
The random superpower generator from Homeschool of 1 is simple to use. Choose how many powers you want to generate, then select a power level. You can generate a single superpower or combine two or three powers to create a more unique superhero, villain, or character.
Low powers tend to be easier to imagine, medium powers add more action and adventure, and epic powers include some of the most powerful superhero abilities. If you’re not sure which to choose, leave the setting on “All” for a mix of random superpowers.
Click the Generate Superpower button to reveal your power. Each result includes a superpower, a short description, and a weakness to help inspire stories, games, drawing prompts, and character creation.

Fun Ways to Use These Superpowers With Kids
Once you’ve generated a few powers, one of my favorite ways to use them is for character building. When my son gets something unexpected like invisibility or super speed, it is always easier for him to start imagining who the character is, where they live, and what kind of problems they would run into.
It turns a random power into a full superhero idea much faster than asking kids to come up with everything from scratch. If they need a character identity to go with those powers, our superhero name generator makes it easy to create heroes, villains, secret identities, and entire superhero teams.
You can also turn it into a quick storytelling activity. We’ve used it as an easy writing prompt by picking one or two powers and building a simple beginning, middle, and ending around them. The weakness usually ends up being the best part, because it gives kids a problem to solve instead of making the character feel too powerful.
For something more hands-on, try drawing or designing a superhero. This works especially well when combining powers, as it gets kids thinking more creatively about what their character would look like and how all of their abilities would fit together.
