N is for Nest Handprint Art | A Fun Preschool Craft!

The N is for nest handprint started with good intentions and ended with paint on the curtains.

My kid lost interest halfway through, came back sticky, and the handprints looked nothing like a nest.

But he said “N is for nest” the next day, so I guess something stuck. It wasn’t Instagram-worthy, but it counted as learning, and I’ll take that.

Letter N Handprint Printable

Print the one-page N is for nest handprint template (cardstock holds up better, but regular paper works too).

We used brown paint for the handprints, applied with a small brush, and kept wipes nearby for the inevitable mess.

Have your child press their painted hands onto the page so the fingers cup around the eggs. Press gently, then lift slowly to help avoid smudging.

Once it’s dry, they can color in the letter N and decorate the nest and tree however they like, ours had blue eggs, a purple trunk, and glitter, because why not.

Even without a formal lesson plan, simple letter N activities like this handprint craft can make the letter stick in a meaningful way.
