Summer Olympics Worksheet For Kids

This summer Olympics worksheet pack has a bit of everything. There’s trivia, athlete facts, word scrambles, coloring pages, and a few creative activities thrown in too.

I made it because one worksheet was never going to cut it in our house. Kids lose interest fast, so having a variety means they can jump between things and actually stick with it. Along the way they pick up bits of Olympic history, learn about real athletes, and start to understand what the Games are actually about.

Works great alongside a classroom lesson, as part of a homeschool unit, or just for a fun Olympics day at home.

Why Use These Summer Olympics Worksheets?

Honestly the variety is the main thing. One long worksheet loses kids halfway through. This pack switches between trivia, fill-in-the-blanks, word scrambles, sports coloring pages, and a creative challenge, so there’s always something different coming next.

Along the way kids pick up real knowledge about Olympic history, host cities, famous athletes, and how the Games have changed over time. It also quietly builds reading comprehension and critical thinking without feeling like schoolwork.

If you’re teaching both seasons of the Games, don’t miss our Winter Olympics coloring pages for preschool and kindergarten.

Olympic Books for Kids

If the worksheets spark an interest, these three books are worth pairing with them. We’ve found facts stick a lot better when there’s a good book alongside.

What Are the Summer Olympics? – gives a kid-friendly overview of the history, the memorable moments, and how the Games have changed over time.

Who Was Jesse Owens? – probably my favorite of the three. His story gives kids a much better understanding of the 1936 Olympics than a handful of trivia questions ever could.

Who Is Simone Biles? – a good choice for any child who enjoys gymnastics or wants to learn how much work goes into becoming an Olympic champion.
