Weather Memory Game Printable

This weather memory game printable was one of our favorite low-prep ways to reinforce weather vocabulary while keeping things fun and screen-free.

We used it during our preschool weather unit, and it quickly turned into a go-to for quiet time or quick review.

Matching the raincloud to the lightning bolt sparked more conversation than I expected, and it helped build both memory skills and weather word recognition without feeling like a formal lesson.

Weather Matching Game Printable

If you’re looking for an easy way to reinforce weather words through play, this printable memory game fits right in.

It’s quick to prep and works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids who are starting to recognize weather patterns like rain, sun, snow, and clouds.

Rather than just talking about weather, this gives kids something hands-on to do, matching pairs, observing differences, and building concentration along the way.

How to Use the Printable

Start by printing the weather memory game page twice, you’ll need two of each image to make matching pairs.

Once printed, cut out all 24 cards. We like trimming off the borders so only the weather illustrations remain.

If you want to add a creative touch, decorate the backs of the cards with colored pencils to make them more colorful and to prevent kids from seeing through the paper.

Lay the cards face down in rows, we usually set them up in four rows of six to keep things organized for younger kids.

Take turns flipping two cards at a time. If they match, keep the pair; if not, turn them back over and try again.

Keep playing until all matches are found. The player with the most pairs at the end wins.
