Printable crowns are perfect for classroom parties, homeschool crafts, or simple afternoon fun. They encourage creativity and help build fine motor skills along the way.

When my son was younger, he loved little projects like this that let him feel part of the Halloween fun without needing a full costume.

Designed especially for young children, this activity blends spooky excitement with hands-on learning.

How to Use the Halloween Crown Printable

This Halloween craft is simple to set up and fun to complete. With just a few basic materials, kids can create a festive crown theyโ€™ll be proud to wear.

It’s perfect for both classroom and at-home use, and itโ€™s easy enough for preschoolers with minimal adult help.

Materials Youโ€™ll Need:

  • Printer โ€“ To print all three pages of the crown set.
  • Paper or cardstock โ€“ Regular printer paper works, but cardstock is sturdier and ideal for wearable crafts.
  • Coloring tools โ€“ Crayons, markers, colored pencils, or even watercolor paints.
  • Scissors โ€“ Child-safe scissors if younger kids are participating.
  • Tape, glue, or stapler โ€“ To securely attach the crown extenders.

Step by Step Instructions:

Print all three pages of the PDF, one page of extenders and two different crown designs. White paper lets kids color more; colored cardstock gives a bolder base if you’re short on time.

Let the child pick one of the two “HAPPY HALLOWEEN” crown templates to personalize.

Kids can color in a haunted house scene with a witch and zombie holding trick-or-treat buckets, complete with a flying bat and spider.

Or choose the crown that features five kids dressed as Frankenstein, a vampire, witch, zombie, and skeleton, each with spiders on a web above them. Encourage them to get creative with costume colors and spooky details.

Carefully cut along the outlines of the selected crown base and the extender strips. Adult help may be needed for younger children during this step.

Attach one extender to each side of the crown base using tape, glue, or a stapler. Adjust the length to fit comfortably around the childโ€™s head, then secure the ends together.

Once assembled, the crown is ready to wear. Kids can wear their crown to a party, parade, or just while pretending to be the Halloween king or queen for the day.

Time Required – This activity typically takes 15โ€“30 minutes, depending on the childโ€™s age and how detailed they get with coloring and decorating. For younger kids, prepping some parts (like cutting out extenders) in advance can make the process smoother.
