This free printable memory game is an easy way to bring kids and adults together for a night of festive fun.
It’s quick to set up, simple to learn, and works well at home, in the classroom, or at a New Year’s Eve party.
Along with keeping kids entertained before midnight, memory games also help them practice concentration, patience, and turn-taking skills.
How to Set Up

The printable includes one page with 12 unique New Year’s images, such as fireworks, party hats, and clocks.
- Print two copies in portrait orientation to create matching pairs.
- Decorate the backs with crayons or colored pencils if you like (avoid markers to prevent bleed-through).
- Cut out the cards carefully, using a paper cutter makes this faster and neater.
- You’ll end up with 24 cards (12 pairs). For extra durability, laminate them so you can reuse the set year after year.
How to Play
- Place all 24 cards face down in rows (4 rows of 6 works well) or scatter them randomly.
- Players take turns flipping two cards at a time, aiming to find a match.
- If a match is found, that player keeps the pair and goes again. If not, turn the cards back over and pass play to the next person.
- Continue until all pairs are found. The player with the most pairs wins, celebrate with a fun New Year’s sticker or small prize!
