New Year’s Memory Game Printable (Free)
As we approach New Year’s Eve, it’s the perfect time to plan some entertaining New Year’s Eve activities for kids.
I have no idea where this year has gone, but as New Year’s Eve is nearly upon us I wanted to create a free New Year’s memory game.
There are 12 different New Year’s images to print out, and you can design the back however you want.
There are images of fireworks, top hats, party hats, a clock, and more.
If you are spending New Year’s Eve with kids this will be a great game to play.

New Year matching game printable
Printable memory games are great for preschoolers and younger kids, but I must admit I love them too.
They are such a simple game, and the whole family can enjoy it.
This free printable New Year’s Eve-inspired matching game is super easy to play. It also makes a great addition to any kid’s New Year’s Eve parties!
Supplies needed:
- cardstock (normal paper will work, but you might be able to see the images through it)
- paper cutter or scissors
- laminator (optional)
How to set
Download the New Year’s Eve memory game below. There is 1 page included with 12 different images on and it will print out in portrait. Make sure to check the printer settings.
This free printable New Year’s Eve game is free to print but is for personal or classroom use only. Scroll to the bottom of the page to get the pdf file.
You will need to print the page twice, so you can match the images.
We like to decorate the back of the images.
So cut around the border at the edge so you are just left with the 12 images.
Then grab your coloring pens (these are the ones we love and use all the time) and have fun.
Tip: Do not use coloring pens if you are using copy paper as it may bleed through to the front images. Crayons or coloring pencils will still look great.
When you have printed the 2 pages you will need to cut out all of the different images.
I prefer to use a paper cutter as it’s easier, quicker, and more accurate, but scissors will work too.
Now you will have two sets of 12, a total of 24 New Year-themed cards.
How to play the New Year’s Eve memory game?
Shuffle the 24 cards and lay them on the table face down in rows to make it easier. Or just randomly on the table for older kids.
If you are placing them in rows I find 4 rows with 6 images each works best.
Playing the game is simple.
The children can either play on their own and turn over 2 images at a time.
Or you can take it in turns to find a pair of images.
If it is a match you can either remove them from the game and place them in front of you or leave them turned over face up.
If it is not a pair then return the cards face down on the table. Continue playing until all pairs have been matched.
The winner is the person who creates the most matches. Celebrate the winner with a sticker.
