Supplies Needed for the heart handprint:
- washable paints
- Wipes!! It helps to have these handy so you don’t make a complete mess of your table!
How to use the h handprint template
Print out the template below, it will print out on one full page. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your emails within 5 minutes.
You can of course print this on normal printer paper, but with all of our crafts, they always look better on cardstock.
Let the kids decide what color handprint they want to use, we have chosen red for our heart.
Use a small paintbrush to add a thin layer of paint to their hand. Make sure you have the wipes handy!!
Place their hands with their fingers pointing downwards towards the bottom center of the page in a heart shape. Press down all along their hand to make sure the handprint transfers fully.
Pull your child’s hand off really gently to avoid any smudges.
Let the paint dry completely before coloring in the letter H. We drew a heart around our handprints but you don’t need to.
The most important thing though is just to have fun with this handprint art!
What are the benefits of creating alphabet handprint crafts?
By adding art when learning the letters of the alphabet you are promoting both auditory learnings with kinesthetic learning.
The student may know the letter H, but adding a handprint to something beginning with the letter will help them retain the information.
