Free Letter F Coloring Page for Preschool and Kindergarten

This letter F coloring page was a simple way to mix phonics with creativity when we were working through the alphabet.

My son liked spotting familiar things like flags and fish while we practiced the F sound, and it gave us a break from handwriting practice without losing the learning.

If you’re teaching preschool or kindergarten, this free alphabet coloring sheet works well for reinforcing the letter through visuals and play.

Letter F Books for Preschool

If you’re looking to pair this coloring page with some fun read-alouds, these letter F books were hits in our house during our early reading years. They’re light, silly, and easy to tie into phonics or storytime without needing a full lesson.

Fox in Socks: This one is pure chaos, in a good way. The tongue twisters had my son laughing and trying to read along, even when he couldn’t quite get the words out. It’s great for building sound awareness and just having fun with language.

Frog on a Log – We used this during our letter F week because it’s full of rhymes and repetition. The storyline is ridiculous (in a preschooler-approved way), and it’s easy to link back to the frog image on the coloring page.

Frog and Toad Are Friends – Slower-paced than the others, but the stories are sweet and thoughtful. We read this one more for the quiet moments. It was a good contrast to some of the sillier F books and helped us talk about friendship and feelings.
