This is such an easy and fun handprint craft and a great way to learn the letter O.
Kids love getting their hands covered in paint, and I have to admit I love it too! It’s so much fun allowing the kids to be creative while learning.
Print out the O is for octopus handprint craft below and have fun.
- washable paints
- dot markers
- glitter glue pens
- kids glue
- googly wiggle eyes (Optional)
- Wipes!! It helps to have these handy so you don’t make a complete mess of your table!
Print out the template below, it will print out on one full page. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your emails within 5 minutes.
You can of course print this on normal printer paper, but with all of our crafts, they always look better on cardstock.
Let the kids decide what color handprints they want to use, we have chosen red for our octopus.
Use a small paintbrush to add a thin layer of paint to their hands. Make sure you have the wipes handy!!
Place their hands with their fingers pointing to each bottom corner of the page with their palms just under the octopus’s face. Press down all along their hand to make sure the handprint transfers fully.
Pull your child’s hand off really gently to avoid any smudges.
Let the paint dry completely before coloring in the letter O and the octopus’s face.
The most important thing though is just to have fun with this handprint art!
