Free Unicorn Memory Game Printable
This unicorn memory game is a fun way to keep kids engaged without needing a big setup or lots of rules.
We printed it on a whim one afternoon, and it ended up being the perfect mix of cute and quick, just enough structure to feel like learning, and simple enough for preschoolers to play on their own.
With 12 different unicorn images (umbrellas, raincoats, Easter baskets, and more), it’s an easy go-to for quiet time, unicorn units, or just something screen-free to do indoors.

How to Set Up the Unicorn Memory Game
This free printable memory game is easy to prep and fun to reuse, ideal for parties, quiet time, or early learning centers.
You’ll find one printable page with 12 different unicorn-themed images. To play, simply:
- Print the page twice so you have a matching set of 24 cards.
- Use cardstock if possible for sturdier cards. If using regular paper, decorate the backs with crayons or colored pencils (avoid markers, which may bleed through).
- Cut out the cards along the edges. A paper cutter works best for speed and accuracy, but scissors are fine too.
- Laminating is optional but helpful if you want to reuse the game multiple times or play with a group.
You can scroll to the bottom of the page to get the PDF file. This unicorn game is for personal or classroom use only.
Like other free printable memory games, this one supports early skills like visual memory, focus, and pattern recognition, without needing any prep beyond scissors and a printer.
For added fun, pair it with a unicorn sensory bottle or themed craft to round out the activity.
How to Play
Once your cards are printed and cut, you’ll have 24 unicorn cards, 12 matching pairs featuring everything from rainbows to unicorns in Easter baskets.
To play:
- Shuffle the cards and place them face down on a flat surface.
- For younger kids, arrange them neatly in 6 rows of 4 cards. For older kids, scatter them randomly for more of a challenge.
- Players take turns flipping over two cards at a time.
- If the cards match, keep them face up (or set them aside).
- If they don’t match, flip them back over and try to remember where they were.
- The player with the most matches at the end wins.
This game works well for two or more players, but it can also be played solo for quiet time or focus practice. For a fun reward, we like using unicorn stickers or letting the winner pick the next activity.
If your kids love this, they might also enjoy our free unicorn word search or themed crafts like the paper plate unicorn.
Books About Unicorns for Preschoolers
If your kids love unicorns as much as mine did at that age, these books are a fun way to keep the magic going after the game’s over. We’ve read all of these more than once, and they’re just as silly and sweet as you’d hope.
Never Let A Unicorn Wear A Tutu is a goofy favorite. It takes a simple idea and runs with it, which always got lots of giggles and questions about what unicorns might wear next.
Unicorn Day is bright, fun, and full of celebration. It’s great for younger kids and worked well as a read-aloud when we wanted something short and cheerful.
How to Catch a Unicorn is part of a larger series, and my son always loved spotting the hidden clues and traps. It’s a playful story with great illustrations and just enough chaos to keep kids engaged.
