Some of our favorite holiday moments aren’t the big events, they’re the quiet ones. When the decorations are up, the cocoa’s warm, and everyone just needs a calm, low-key activity.
This Christmas memory game printable has become one of our go-tos. It takes just a few minutes to prep and works for a wide age range, whether we’re playing as a family or setting it out during a playdate.
I love how something this simple can turn into real connection, and a little friendly competition never hurts either.

Christmas Matching Game Printable
This Christmas memory game is a fun, low-prep activity that works beautifully for quiet afternoons, classroom centers, or kids’ holiday parties.
It’s quick to set up and even more fun to play, especially once the competition kicks in!
How to use
Just print the page twice to create your memory cards. The PDF includes one sheet with 12 festive images, designed to print in portrait. For best results, check your printer settings before starting.
We like to decorate the backs of the cards before cutting, just trim off the outer border so you’re left with the 12 square images, then grab some coloring pencils or crayons (especially if using copy paper, pens can bleed through!).
Cut out both pages with scissors or a paper cutter (my preferred tool for straight edges), and you’ll end up with 24 cards, two of each Christmas-themed design.
This free printable is for personal or classroom use only. Just scroll to the bottom of the post to grab the PDF.

How to Play?
Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a grid. For younger kids, we use 6 rows of 4 to keep it organized. Older kids might enjoy the challenge of a more scattered setup.
Players take turns flipping two cards at a time. If the images match, keep the pair. If not, turn them face down again and let the next player go.
Whoever collects the most matches wins!
Tip: This also works great for solo play if your child wants to test their memory on their own.
You can even turn it into a mini tournament, winner gets one of our favorite Christmas stickers or a hot cocoa break.
