Free Founding Fathers Coloring Page for Kids

A Founding Fathers coloring page is one of my favorite low-prep ways to introduce early American history to younger learners.

When my son was first learning about U.S. presidents and independence, simple activities like these helped him remember the names and faces behind the big events.

This free printable set includes eight key figures, each with their own coloring sheet and a quick historical fact, perfect for homeschool, classroom use, or Presidents’ Day lessons.

Each page features a bold, easy-to-color illustration along with a short sentence describing what that person is best known for, perfect for early learners who are just starting to explore U.S. history.

Although there were dozens of Founding Fathers, 56 signed the Declaration of Independence and 39 signed the Constitution, historians often point to these seven as the most pivotal. We’ve also included John Hancock for his iconic signature and role in the Continental Congress.

What’s On Each Coloring Page?

Each Founding Father worksheet includes:

  • A bold, cartoon-style portrait
  • The name of the figure in large, traceable letters
  • A simple sentence summarizing what they’re known for (like “He was the first president of the United States”)

These details help kids make a visual connection to each person’s role in American history, especially helpful for early elementary students who are just starting to explore government and civics.
