You can of course print this on normal printer paper, but with all of our crafts, they always look better on cardstock.

Let the kids decide what color handprints they want to use, we have chosen orange for our peacock feathers.

Use a small paintbrush to add a thin layer of paint to their hands. Make sure you have the wipes handy!!

Place their hands with their fingers pointing upwards towards each corner of the page, with their palms on either side of the peacock's body.

Press down all along their hand to make sure the kid's handprint transfers fully.

Pull your child’s hand off really gently to avoid any smudges.

Let the paint dry completely before coloring in the letter P and the peacock's body.

Letter P Handprint Craft

When we first tried this alphabet handprint craft, I wasn’t expecting how much fun it would be, or how long the paint would stay on my kitchen chairs!

But it turned into a great way for my son to connect with the letter P, and the finished page was one he actually wanted to hang up.

hand and orange paint

To try it at home, print the peacock template on cardstock (it holds paint much better). We used orange for the feathers, but let your kids choose their own peacock colors, it’s more fun that way.

I used a small brush to coat his hands with a thin layer of washable paint (wipes ready!).

2 orange handprints

We pressed both hands down on either side of the body, fingers up and out, then gently peeled them off. After it dried, he added details with markers and colored in the big letter P.
