How to Use the Reverse Text Generator

Choose from five different options depending on the result you want:

• Flip Text turns the text upside down using Unicode characters.

Ways to Reverse Text

The different settings produce very different results. For example, if you enter:

The Flip Text and Mirror Text options use special characters to change how the letters appear rather than simply rearranging them.

Make Secret Messages and Puzzle Clues

Backwards text is an easy way to make a normal message harder to read. It works particularly well for treasure hunts, scavenger hunts, classroom puzzles, riddles, and escape room clues.

For a simple puzzle, write a clue such as “Look behind the bookshelf”, reverse it, and give only the backwards version to the player. They have to work out how to read the message before they can continue.

What Is Mirror Text?

Mirror text is writing designed to look as though it has been reflected in a mirror. A true mirrored alphabet doesn't exist as a complete standard set of Unicode characters, so the generator uses mirrored or visually similar characters where they are available.

This makes mirror writing useful for puzzles, unusual messages, usernames, social posts, and activities involving symmetry or reflections.

The Reverse Text option is better when you simply need the exact characters of a message placed in backwards order.
