6 Free Star Wars Handprint Art Templates
Star Wars handprint art was an easy way to bring my son’s Star Wars obsession into craft time when he was younger.
At one point everything seemed to be about lightsabers, droids, and Jedi, so these printables were a fun way to turn that interest into something creative. The free set includes Darth Vader, BB8, Rey, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Finn, and Han Solo handprint templates.
We first used them for May the 4th, but they also work well for Star Wars birthday parties or a simple afternoon craft at home.

Star Wars Handprint Craft Ideas for Kids
These handprint crafts are a fun way to combine art time with favorite Star Wars characters. Whether you’re celebrating May the 4th, looking for a Star Wars Father’s Day craft, or simply need an easy themed activity, these printable templates are simple to set up and fun for kids of all ages.
Each design features a recognizable character, making it easy for kids to see their creation come together. From preschoolers to older Star Wars fans, these handprint crafts require very little preparation and make a great keepsake too.
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Obi-Wan’s template features the quote “It takes strength to resist the Dark Side.”
Use brown paint for the handprint to create Obi-Wan’s robes. This is one of the easiest designs in the set and works especially well with younger children.

Finn
Finn comes with the quote “I’m a big deal in the Resistance.”
Use black paint for the handprint and line it up beneath Finn’s lightsaber. Star Wars fans will instantly recognize this brave Resistance fighter.

BB8
BB8 has always been one of my favorite Star Wars droids, and this template is probably the simplest in the set.
Use orange paint for the handprint and place it beneath BB8’s head. The page also includes a “Happy Star Wars Day!” message, making it perfect for May the 4th celebrations.

Rey
Rey’s template features her memorable quote, “Stop taking my hand!”
Use brown paint for the handprint and place it beneath Rey’s staff. It’s a fun choice for kids who prefer the newer Star Wars movies.

Darth Vader
Darth Vader’s page includes the quote “The Force is strong with this one.”
Black paint works best for this handprint, creating Darth Vader’s iconic dark robes. This was always one of the most popular templates in our house.

Han Solo
Han Solo’s template comes with his famous line, “I know!”
Use brown paint for the handprint and let it dry before displaying. This one would also make a fun Star Wars Father’s Day craft for dads who are fans of the movies.
