Advent Calendar to Color

This coloring advent calendar printable is a fun and low-prep way to build excitement each day in December. It features 25 numbered images for kids to color, one for each day leading up to Christmas.

You’ll find classic holiday icons like a Christmas tree, Santa, reindeer, gingerbread man, elf, sleigh, stocking, snowman, candy cane, bells, and more.

Each image is small and easy to color, making it perfect for kids of all ages, especially preschool and elementary.

We keep ours on the kitchen table through December. My son loves grabbing the crayons first thing in the morning and racing to find the day’s number before I do.

Sometimes we color together, sometimes he does it solo, but it’s become one of those little traditions that makes the season feel special.

To use it, just print the page on standard US letter paper (8.5″ x 11″). We recommend cardstock if you want it to hold up all month, and leave it somewhere easy to reach, like the fridge, a clipboard, or part of your morning basket.

One of the easiest ways we’ve added a little extra magic to the countdown, especially on slower evenings, is by reading a Christmas-themed book together. These are a few favorites we’ve come back to over the years:

• Countdown to Christmas!: With a Story a Day – The Peanuts gang has always been a hit in our house. This collection has 24 short stories, one for each day, and it’s perfect for winding down at bedtime or during quiet time.
• Elmo’s Countdown to Christmas – When my son was younger, he loved anything Elmo. This lift-the-flap book was his favorite; he’d peek behind each flap and try to guess what was hiding before turning the page.
• Tractor Mac Countdown to Christmas – We picked this one up on a whim, and it ended up being a really sweet read. The farm setting, simple messages, and cozy illustrations make it a nice one to revisit, especially if your kids love anything with wheels or animals.
