How to Play
Print out the aquarium scavenger hunt before your visit, there’s one page with 12 simple images to find. Check your printer settings to make sure it prints clearly.
We like to bring a storage clipboard with us, it keeps the sheet flat, gives kids a solid surface to write or color on, and holds their pencils and crayons all in one place. Handy if you’re moving between exhibits!
Kids can color the page before the trip to build excitement, or bring it along and color as they explore.
It’s also great for keeping them occupied when they need a quick break.
For a little extra motivation, offer a small prize to whoever spots all the items—something fun but simple like a magnet or pencil from the gift shop.
Adapting It for Older Kids
Older kids can definitely get in on the fun too, just add a layer of learning. As they find each item on the checklist, ask them to jot down a quick fact about it.
They can look things up at the aquarium (if it’s allowed) or research more when they get home or back in the classroom.
This works well as a short writing activity or a group discussion afterward. A storage clipboard makes this even easier, they’ll have a place to write and store any brochures or extra info they collect during the visit.
