Free Printable Father’s Day Coloring Pages

Father’s Day coloring pages have become one of our favorite ways to slow down and do something meaningful together.

Over the years, my son has colored everything from superhero dads to barbecue scenes, and we’ve turned them into cards, keepsakes, and fridge-worthy art.

This set of free Father’s Day printables tells a simple story that kids can color as they go, making it both a creative activity and a sweet gift for Dad or Grandad.

Three printable Father's Day coloring pages partially colored with markers and crayons, including a “Happy Father’s Day” title page, a page with kids in ties, and a page with colorful tie bunting and a short story at the bottom. Blue beaded necklace and a box of Crayola crayons sit beside the pages.

Father’s Day Printable Coloring Pages

This set of 9 Father’s Day coloring pages is a fun, creative way for kids to celebrate Dad this June.

Perfect for both home and classroom use, these pages combine storytelling with sweet illustrations children can personalize.

You can print them on regular paper, but we’ve found cardstock gives a more polished look—especially if you’re turning them into gifts.

My son uses dual-tipped coloring pens, and they’ve held up really well across multiple projects.

Story-Based Father’s Day Coloring Book

One of my favorite things about these Father’s Day coloring pages is how they tell a story.

Instead of random images, each page follows a simple scene that builds into a sweet celebration of dads and grandads.

My son always ends up adding his own spin to the pictures—sometimes the BBQ includes space aliens or the mugs say “Best Gamer Dad.” That’s half the fun.

The first page sets the tone with three excited dads getting ready for their big day.

“Once upon a time, it was a special day called Father’s Day. Everybody was super excited, especially the little kids!”

This image features a Father's Day-themed kids' craft activity. There are three illustrated coloring pages: one says "Happy Father’s Day" with the word “Father’s” colorfully filled in; another shows three men and includes a short story about kids planning a surprise for their dads; the third displays a bunting of colorful, patterned neckties with a caption about children decorating with ties. Also pictured are a Crayola 24-pack of crayons and a strand of blue bead necklaces, suggesting these are tools or decorations used for the craft.

Kids then decorate with tie bunting—perfect for coloring in their dad’s favorite colors, patterns, or even football teams.

“They took colorful ties and hung them on a line, just like pretty decorations. It looked like a fancy party with tie bunting!”

Next up, the kids create custom coffee mugs that say “DAD.” There’s space for them to design their own, too.

“Next, they made coffee cups with ‘DAD’ written on them. They knew their dads would love sipping their morning coffee in those special cups and feel super special.”

This image continues the Father's Day craft story with two more illustrated coloring pages. One page shows two mugs decorated with the word “DAD” and includes a caption about kids creating special coffee cups for their fathers. The second page features a child grilling, accompanied by a caption explaining how the dads had a BBQ party with burgers and hot dogs. Also included are a box of Crayola crayons and a looped strand of blue plastic beads.

The coloring book keeps it fun with a backyard BBQ, dads playing with their kids, and even a surprise moment with handmade #1 Dad badges and trophies.

“The dads started getting hungry. So, they decided to have a BBQ party! The dads put on their aprons and cooked delicious burgers and hot dogs on the grill.”

“After eating, the dads wanted to play with their kids. One dad lifted a toddler on his shoulders, and they both laughed and giggled. It was like a fun ride up in the sky!”

This image wraps up a Father's Day kids' craft story with two illustrated coloring pages. One page features two ribbon-style badges, one labeled "#1 Dad," with a caption describing how kids gave these to their dads as a surprise gift. The second shows a group of dads and kids, with one dad lifting a child on his shoulders, accompanied by a caption about playful post-BBQ fun. Also included are a box of Crayola crayons and blue plastic beads, reinforcing the DIY, hands-on theme.

“Finally, it was time for the surprise. The kids gave their dads a special gift. Inside, there was a shiny ‘Number 1 Dad’ badge. But that’s not all! The kids also made a super special trophy for their dads.”

Father's Day coloring story includes two illustrated pages. One features a large trophy labeled “DAD” with a bright yellow mustache, with a caption about how the kids made a special trophy to show their love. The second page shows a group of dads and kids standing together, celebrating, with a caption that says, “And that’s how Father’s Day became the best day ever!” A box of Crayola crayons and a string of blue beads are also present, reinforcing the craft-focused theme.

The last page shows a gathering of Dads with their children, celebrating the love and bonds shared.

“And that’s how Father’s Day became the best day ever!”

Bonus Tip: If your child wants to turn their artwork into a gift, consider pairing the coloring pages with a small item like a Best Dad mug, custom keyring, or photo frame. Simple touches can make their handmade gift feel extra special.

More Father’s Day Printables

If your kids are enjoying the coloring book, you might want to check out some of our other favorite Father’s Day activities. These extras are simple to prep and make great keepsakes:

  • Father’s Day coupons – My son loves coming up with promises like “a week without chores” or “one movie night of your choice.” These printable coupons are a sweet way for kids to show love with thoughtful actions.
  • Father’s Day handprint art – This one’s always a hit, especially with younger kids. Add their handprints to a page and you’ve got an instant keepsake that Dad (or Grandad) will actually want to hang on the fridge.
  • Father’s Day bookmarks – For book-loving dads, these bookmarks to color are fun to personalize. My son colored one with golf balls last year. It’s still tucked in his dad’s nightstand book.
  • All about Dad printable – A fill-in-the-blank page where kids get to share their thoughts (“My dad is good at… grilling and fixing everything” was ours last time).
  • Coloring Father’s Day cards – Add a personal touch with these printable cards that kids can color and fold. Easy and meaningful.
