Free Owl Handprint Craft for Halloween (With Printable Stickers)
We first made this owl handprint craft as a quick Halloween activity when my son wanted to paint but I didn’t want a huge mess.
The free printable includes not just the owl template but also Halloween-themed stickers that kids can cut out and add to their artwork.
It only takes about ten minutes from start to finish, and the handprints make it feel like a keepsake without a lot of prep.
Whether you’re using it for a fall classroom project, a homeschool art day, or just a quiet afternoon at home, this owl handprint is an easy win, simple, fun, and a little spooky too.

How to Use the Free Owl Handprint Template
The PDF includes three pages:
- Page 1 is the owl handprint template
- Pages 2 and 3 have Halloween-themed stickers to cut out and decorate with
If you’re printing on colored paper, just use the first page. The stickers look best printed on white paper, and cardstock gives everything a sturdier feel.
How to Make the Owl Handprint
Let your child pick their paint color, we’ve used both orange and blue wings and they always turn out cute.
Use a small brush to coat their hand with paint, then press it onto the template with fingers pointing up to create the wings.
Press gently along the whole hand to help the print transfer, then lift straight up to avoid smudging.
Once it’s dry, add googly eyes if you have them, and cut out some of the printable Halloween stickers to finish it off.
The stickers can also be used to decorate treat bags or other crafts, my son ended up covering half his folder with them.
