What is the nervous system?
The nervous system is like the boss of your body, controlling everything you do!
The central nervous system is a crucial part of the nervous system, and it includes the brain and the spinal cord. It’s like the command center of our body. The brain and spinal cord work together to process information, send messages, and coordinate our body’s activities.
It’s made up of your brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves that run throughout your body. These nerves send messages between your brain and different parts of your body, like telling your muscles to move or your skin to feel things.
So, whenever you wiggle your toes, laugh at a joke, or even blink your eyes, you can thank your amazing nervous system for making it happen!
Brain
The brain is like the supercomputer of our body! It’s the control center that helps us think, feel, and move.
It’s divided into different parts that each have a special job, like the frontal lobe for decision-making and the occipital lobe for seeing things.
Without the brain, we wouldn’t be able to do all the amazing things we can do!
Brain Stem
The brain stem is like the body’s autopilot system! It’s located at the base of the brain and helps control essential functions like breathing, heart rate, and digestion.
It also helps send messages between the brain and the rest of the body. So, even when we’re not thinking about it, the brain stem keeps everything running smoothly!
Cerebellum
The cerebellum is the brain’s little helper for balance and coordination!
It’s located at the back of the brain and works closely with other parts to make sure we can walk, ride a bike, and even play sports without falling all over the place.
It’s like having a built-in stabilizer that keeps us steady and helps us move with precision.
Spinal Cord
The spinal cord is like the information highway of the body! It’s a long, thin bundle of nerves that runs down our back, protected by the spine.
It’s responsible for sending messages between the brain and the rest of the body. So, when we want to move our arms or feel a tickle on our skin, the spinal cord helps make it happen!

Nerves
Nerves are like the messengers of the body! They’re like electrical wires that carry messages between the brain and different body parts.
They help us feel sensations like touch, temperature, and pain, and also help us move our muscles.
Nerves are everywhere in our body, branching out like a big network, so they can deliver important messages all around!
