How to Make the A is for Apple Handprint Craft

This free A is for Apple handprint craft is a simple alphabet activity for preschool and kindergarten. Kids can practice letter recognition while creating a fun apple-themed keepsake using paint and the printable template.

Instructions

Print the template on a single sheet of paper. If you don’t see the email within 5 minutes, be sure to check your spam folder.

You can print it on regular printer paper or cardstock, but cardstock creates a sturdier keepsake and holds paint better.

Let your child choose a paint color. We used red to create a classic apple handprint.

Use a small paintbrush to apply a thin layer of paint to your child’s hand.

Place their hand with the fingers pointing toward the bottom of the page and the palm just below the apple core. Press gently across the entire hand to transfer the paint evenly.

Carefully lift their hand away to avoid smudging the print.

Allow the paint to dry completely before coloring the letter A and the apple leaf.

The finished craft includes the phrase “I apple-laud your efforts,” making it a fun keepsake for preschool and kindergarten letter A activities.
