Free Roald Dahl Coloring Pages for Kids
These free Roald Dahl coloring pages have been a fun way for us to bring his stories to life, especially around Roald Dahl Day in September.
The printable set includes 16 coloring pages inspired by Matilda, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Twits.
Whether it’s Matilda with her stack of books or the BFG towering over Sophie, my son always gets excited to color in his favorite characters.
They’re great for quiet time, book activities, or a bit of creative fun after reading the stories or watching the films (though fair warning, the original BFG movie is not as gentle as I remembered!).

Printable Roald Dahl Coloring Sheets
We like to use these coloring sheets alongside the books, either after reading a chapter or as part of our Roald Dahl Day activities.
You’ll find printable coloring pages inspired by Matilda, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Twits.
Free Matilda Coloring Pages
Matilda has always been a favorite in our house, probably because she reminds us a little of my son when he was younger: always reading, always curious.
These Matilda coloring pages are perfect for using after reading a chapter or two. You can also pair the coloring sheets with our free Matilda printable, where kids can match the main characters and test how well they remember the story.

The BFG Coloring Pages
The BFG scenes were the first ones my son reached for; he couldn’t stop laughing at how massive and goofy the giant looked.

These BFG coloring pages are fun to use alongside the book and can lead to conversations about dreams, bravery, and unlikely friendships.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Coloring Pages
These Charlie and the Chocolate Factory coloring pages are packed with golden tickets, wild inventions, and plenty of chocolate-filled fun. We even did a mini chocolate tasting while coloring (highly recommended).

You can also pair them with our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory printable, which helps kids review the main characters from the story.

The Twits Coloring Pages
The Twits coloring pages are a mix of messy hair, upside-down rooms, and strange animal tricks, perfect for kids who love the sillier side of Roald Dahl.

My son thought these were the funniest by far. After coloring, he started making up his own prank ideas, which turned into a fun storytelling activity.

Roald Dahl Books for Kids
If your kids enjoy these coloring pages, these Roald Dahl activity books are a fun way to explore the stories and characters in different ways:
A Marvellous Colouring Book Adventure – A more detailed coloring book that’s great for older kids who want to spend longer on each page. The BFG and Wonka scenes were favorites in our house.
Roald Dahl Mad Libs – A silly way to sneak in some writing practice. My son loved making up ridiculous stories with characters he already knew.
Matilda Sticker Book – Great for younger kids who enjoy retelling the story or creating their own scenes with stickers.
Mischief and Mayhem – Packed with pranks, riddles, and activities inspired by Dahl’s more mischievous characters. It’s a fun choice for kids who want more to do after finishing the books.
