How to Print and Prep
Print the Thanksgiving memory game sheet twice, it includes 12 different fall-themed images like turkeys, pumpkins, and pilgrim hats. Once printed, you’ll have 24 cards to match.
Cut out the image squares. We usually decorate the backs before playing so they’re not see-through. My son grabs his favorite pens (these are the ones we always use) and adds swirls, stripes, or silly doodles.
A paper cutter works best for quick, clean lines, but scissors will do the trick too.
This printable memory game is for personal and classroom use only. You’ll find the PDF link at the bottom of the post.
If you’re planning a classroom activity or family gathering, Thanksgiving bingo pairs really well with this memory game for a full set of printable fun.
How to Play
Shuffle the cards and lay them face down on a flat surface. For younger kids, I usually place them in four rows of six to make things easier. Older kids might prefer the challenge of a more random layout.
Players take turns flipping over two cards at a time. If they match, keep the pair. If not, turn them back over and try to remember where they were for your next turn.
The game continues until all matches are found. The player with the most pairs wins. In our house, that usually comes with bragging rights, and sometimes a Thanksgiving sticker for the champion.

Best Thanksgiving Picture Books to Share
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times to curl up with a cozy book, and these stories have become part of our tradition:
- Balloons over Broadway tells the incredible story of Tony Sarg, the artist behind the Macy’s Parade balloons. It always leaves us in awe of how one person’s creativity helped shape such a beloved event.
- I am Thankful is a gentle reminder for kids (and parents) to notice everyday gratitude. It always sparks great conversations, and more than once, we’ve ended up talking about tiny things that matter most.
- How to Catch a Turkey makes us laugh out loud every time. With goofy traps and clever birds, it’s just the right amount of silly for a lighthearted holiday read.
