If you are studying American geography you are going to love these free American landmarks worksheets.

Despite there being hundreds of beautiful landmarks we have created free American landmarks worksheets for the most famous 17.

As we have been learning about the States of America we had heard of all of these landmarks, but have only actually seen the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. We managed to go to the top (well the 86th floor) a number of years ago and the view of New York was spectacular.

These free geography worksheets are aimed at upper elementary and middle school-aged children.

USA Landmarks Worksheet

There are so many beautiful landmarks in America, but today we are just focussing on the most famous 17.

These American landmark worksheets are free to print but are for personal and classroom use only. Scroll to the bottom of the post and add your email address to get the pdf file.

Each American landmark worksheet has the following details that need to be completed:

We prefer to try and find our information from books, the 50 States book has a lot of the information, and for the rest, we use Mr. Google!

Mount Rushmore

9/11 Memorial

The 9/11 Memorial is a solemn and poignant tribute to the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City.

Located at the former site of the Twin Towers, it consists of two reflecting pools that occupy the footprints of the original buildings. Surrounding the pools are bronze panels inscribed with the names of the nearly 3,000 individuals who lost their lives in the attacks, including those at the Pentagon and on Flight 93.

The memorial serves as a place of remembrance, allowing visitors to reflect on the tragic events and honor the lives that were lost, while also highlighting the resilience and unity of the American people in the face of adversity.

One World Trade Center

One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, is a remarkable skyscraper located in Lower Manhattan, New York City. It was built as a symbol of hope and resilience.

Standing at a symbolic height of 1,776 feet, it is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.

Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is an iconic skyscraper located in the heart of New York City. Standing at a height of 1,454 feet with its distinctive Art Deco design, it held the title of the tallest building in the world for nearly four decades.

Offering breathtaking views of Manhattan from its observatories on the 86th and 102nd floors.

Capitol Building

The Capitol Building is an iconic landmark located in Washington, D.C., serving as the seat of the United States Congress.

This impressive neoclassical building, with its distinctive dome, is a symbol of democracy and the heart of American governance.

Housing the Senate and the House of Representatives. It is where lawmakers convene to debate and make decisions that shape the nation’s laws and policies.

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is found on Liberty Island in New York Harbor.

Gifted to the United States by France as a symbol of freedom and democracy.

Arlington Memorial Amphitheater

The Arlington Memorial Amphitheater is a historic performance venue located in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

Where important ceremonies and tributes are held to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s fallen heroes.

White House

The White House is the official residence and workplace of the President of the United States, located in Washington D.C.

It has been the home of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800.

Hollywood Sign

The Hollywood Sign can be found on the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California.

It was originally constructed in 1923 as a promotional advertisement for a real estate development. Has since become a symbol of the entertainment industry and the American Dream.

Jefferson Memorial

The Jefferson Memorial is a significant monument situated in Washington, D.C., dedicated to Thomas Jefferson. The third President of the United States and one of the Founding Fathers.

Inspired by classical architecture, the memorial features a domed structure surrounded by Ionic columns, overlooking the Tidal Basin. Inside, visitors can find a bronze statue of Jefferson and excerpts from his writings, emphasizing his contributions to American democracy, including the drafting of the Declaration of Independence.

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is an iconic suspension bridge that spans the Golden Gate Strait, connecting San Francisco to Marin County in California. With its distinctive reddish-orange color and majestic towers, it stands as a symbol of the city and a marvel of engineering.

Lincoln Memorial

Gateway Arch

The Gateway Arch is a monumental structure located in St. Louis, Missouri. Designed as a symbol of America’s westward expansion, it stands at 630 feet tall, making it the tallest arch in the world.

The Arch serves as a memorial to Thomas Jefferson and the role St. Louis played as the “Gateway to the West” during the 19th-century expansion of the United States.
