A is for apple handprint is one of those classic preschool crafts that never gets old.

It’s quick, a little messy, and makes a perfect keepsake while helping kids connect the letter A to something they know and love.

We’ve used this one every year in early learning, and it’s always a hit.

If you’re working through the alphabet or just need a fun seasonal craft, this alphabet handprint art printable is ready to go, just paint, press, and let it dry.

How to use

Print out the template below, it will print out on one full page. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see it in your emails within 5 minutes.

You can of course print this on normal printer paper, but with all of our crafts, they always look better on cardstock.

Let the kids decide what color handprint they want to use, we have chosen red for our apple.

A child’s hand is laid flat on a white surface next to an open container of red paint and a paintbrush, ready for a handprint craft. The setup suggests preparation for a painting activity, such as creating a handprint apple.

Use a small paintbrush to add a thin layer of paint to their hand. Make sure you have the wipes handy!!

A hand is fully covered in red paint, ready to be used for a handprint craft. An open container of red paint and a paintbrush are nearby on a white surface, indicating an arts and crafts activity.

Place their hand with their fingers pointing to the bottom of the paper, with their palm just under the core of the apple. Press down all along their hand to make sure the handprint transfers fully.

Pull your child’s hand off really gently to avoid any smudges.

Let the paint dry completely before coloring in the letter A and the leaf of the apple.

A finished "A is for Apple" handprint craft shows a red handprint shaped like an apple with added green leaves and a brown stem. The phrase "I apple-laud your efforts" is printed underneath, with markers and red paint sitting beside the artwork.
