These 12 Halloween scavenger hunt riddles are designed for an indoor hunt, with clues leading to familiar spots around the house.
Each clue rhymes and gives kids a hint about where to look next. You can use all 12 for a longer treasure hunt or choose a few for a quicker Halloween activity.

How to Set Up the Halloween Scavenger Hunt
This indoor Halloween treasure hunt is quick to set up and only needs a little preparation.
- Print the clue cards – The free printable includes all 12 riddles. Cardstock works well if you want sturdier cards, but regular paper is fine too.You’ll find the free printable riddles at the bottom of this page.
- Cut out the clues – Cut around each card so they’re ready to hide around the house.
- Plan the hiding spots – Decide where each clue will go before you start. This makes it much easier to keep the riddles in the right order.
- Prepare the prize – Leave candy, a small toy, Halloween books, or another surprise at the final hiding spot.
