Farm Books for Kids

Adding a few books is an easy way to extend a farm theme beyond the worksheets. These are three of my favorites to pair with the activities above.

Big Red Barn follows the animals on a busy farm from morning until night. It’s a lovely choice for younger kids and pairs particularly well with the farm animal coloring and early learning activities.

The Year at Maple Hill Farm follows life on a farm through each month of the year, showing how the animals and seasons change. It works especially well alongside the animal life cycle worksheets.

How Did That Get in My Lunchbox? explores where everyday foods come from and how they make their way to our plates. It’s a great addition to the vegetable and growing activities and helps connect farm learning to foods kids already know.
